I am a new subscriber and will be initiating positions next month which also happens to be the beginning of the year. Should I make the stock buys on Jan 2nd (as 1st is a holiday) itself or wait a day or two?

As these are monthly strategies, is not critical to enter on the very first day of the month. Entering on the second or third day should be fine as it may result to slightly better or slightly worse results. If you do enter on the first day it’s best to avoid the opening as it gets crowded.
