Intro

Howdy, I just started looking at QT/Logical Invest. I’ve been a trader since 2017, however very options dominant. I’m looking into learning about some rotation and other strategies LI has to offer.

I Need Advice on Portfolio Management with Logical Investment Tools.

Hello Everyone I am new to using logical invest tools and would like some advice on creating a balanced; diversified portfolio. My major goal is to generate steady profits while limiting risk; I am unsure of the appropriate approach to take with the platform. I am currently looking at pre built plans such as the universal investment strategy and the hedge planning; but I am curious about how others alter and mix these. Should someone with … Read more

Why are many strategies so defensive?

Although you are doing well, I’m a little puzzled why your strategies seem so defensive. Take NASDAQ 100 for example. It is typically a 60/40 portfolio with 60% in high momentum stocks. But it is now 40% invested in low volatility stocks and 60% invested in the hedge. It’s described as a momentum strategy with a mean reversion component. Why is this (and other strategies) so conservative right now? Momentum is still pretty strong and … Read more

Historical returns missing for some strategies

Most of your strategies provide historical performance of actually trading the strategy through a link at the bottom of the backtest page. Some don’t though. For instance, Volatility less than 15% and Maximum Sharpe Ratio are missing that link to historical performance. Can you provide a similar link for those strategies? Thanks.

Currency Issue

Hi guys, I’m new to the site. I would like to try some of these strategies but the main roadblock I see is that all strategies use USD for trading. I’m in Canada and usually just trade in CAD. I know there are some similar index-tracking ETFs on the TSX, but they don’t always have the same performance and liquidity. My question is, which is the best option: 1. Should I convert CAD to USD? … Read more

Comment on July Blog post mentioning my Forum post

This month’s blog post mentions my comment and goes on to explain the workings of the NASDAQ 100 strategy. I agree with pretty much everything but the last bit. “In other words the LI Nasdaq 100 strategy model is created as a whole portfolio allocation model.” The NASDAQ 100 strategy is generally a 60/40 stock/bond portfolio. The problem is that having your equity side populated with only four stocks exposes the portfolio to too much … Read more

NASDAQ 100 Strategy

I’ve only had the QT software for a few days, but I confess I’m a little confused as I look at it. When I pull up the NASDAQ 100 strategy, it suggests we should be invested in the NASDAQ Low Volatility strategy, but the website shows us in the NASDAQ leaders. I may be missing something, so any ideas are welcome. I don’t really see a way to attach a screenshot or I would do … Read more

A newbie’s reflections

Logical Invest seems like a very idiosyncratic organization. On the one hand, they can take a long time to get back to you on questions. I find their software difficult to use and understand. Some of their strategies and portfolios are just adapted from other peoples’. On the other hand, I can’t touch historical returns on some of their strategies. Their NASDAQ 100 is outstanding. It’s hardly unique. Almost all sytematic traders have some version … Read more

Trial member seeking feedback from long-time subscribers

Thanks in advance for any response. I’m curious about whether your actual investment results correspond well with the historical data for the portfolios you selected. Obviously, there will be differences, but please let me know if you experienced returns or drawdowns far outside what you expected. I appreciate any responses.
